After the hard shell is cracked, the grainy seed inside is as soft as a pine nut and known as Charoli. Charoli tastes just like almonds and is commonly added to sweet dishes like kheers, halvas and kulfis. Also used in Ayurvedic medicines, they are harvested from a tree called Buchanania Lanzan.
