The moth bean, also called the mut, mot, mat, papillon, haricot or dew bean, is a small brownish bean with a creamy yellow interior. It tastes similar to the mung bean, but with a nuttier flavour. These beans are used in North Indian cuisine, where they are simmered with other vegetables to make a curry.
