Urid Dal White / Uridbohnen Geschält

Urid (or Urad) beans are often split and dehusked to produce dal, a small pale yellow split pea. This dal is popular in North and South Indian cooking – it can be used to make creamy dals, soups, and even dumplings. If you fry the dal in oil, its colour will turn red and its flavour will become nutty.
