Cherimoya is a green, cone-shaped fruit with leathery skin and creamy, sweet flesh.Scientists believe that it originated in the Andes mountains of South America. Now, it’s grown in tropical areas with high altitudes. Because of its creamy texture, cherimoya is also referred to as custard apple.

The fruit of the common custard apple (Annona reticulata), also called sugar apple or bullock’s-heart in the West Indies, is dark brown in colour and marked with depressions giving it a quilted appearance; its pulp is reddish yellow, sweetish, and very soft.
